Miguel Smith Awarded Act Six Scholarship

Miguel SmithSempai Miguel Smith was awarded the prestigeous act six scholarship at an awards ceremony on February 10th at Mt. Tahoma High School. The scholarship was awarded to only 48 high school students from over 65  Schools the around the state. Over 450 students applied.

A Black Belt at the Lakewood Dojo, Miguel began training when he was only six years old, and attributes much of his earning of this scholarship to the leadership and character development training he receives from Sensei Sweigart.

“Over these last 12 years, Miguel has shown the fine leadership skills that are expected from all Black Belts within the WKA” says Sensei Sweigart. “He is an excellent role model to the younger students and we are very proud of him.”

Miguel will use the scholarship to attend Pacific Lutheran University next year. Congratulations Sempai!
